What are implant-retained dentures?

Implant-retained dentures are an economical solution for multiple gaps in your teeth, especially if you have gaps on both sides of your mouth. These types of dentures are also well-suited to patients who have put up with uncomfortable dentures for a number of years. Using implants, your custom-made dentures are retained in position and offer enhanced chewing and speech capacity.

Implants are replacement tooth roots, giving the jawbone the vital support it needs to stay strong and healthy.

FAQs

What can I expect from the process?

We use a CBCT scanner to locate the right location in the jawbone for implant placement. This technology is state-of-the-art, and ensures a very high success rate of over 95%.

Following this, the implants are surgically placed and left to heal for several months. Once the jaw has successfully healed, the custom-fitting dentures are screwed in over the top of the implants.

How can implants be so similar to real teeth?

Once they have been implanted into the jawbone, implants take on the role of tooth roots. The healing period of 3 to 6 months involves the jawbone growing around the implant. Once this has occurred, the body believes the implant to be a new tooth root. Implants are set within the gum line, and unlike conventional dentures, they don’t depend on suction to stay in position. This means they are far more stable and functional.

Hello,My 13 year old daughter had her first 2 teeth taken out by the dentist, Vignesh Mohan. She had never experienced anything like that and, I thought, it would be quite traumatic for her. This dentist surgery is all that a dentist should be. In my experience it runs efficiently, to time and I still have an NHS dentist there. The receptionists are friendly and helpful.
